Frequently asked questions
Answers about the platform, integration, data migration, security and subscriptions. Anything not covered here is answered in the demo.
About the platform
Does the platform fully support Arabic?
Yes. The interface is Arabic and right-to-left, and each user can switch to English. Dates appear in both the Hijri and Gregorian calendars, and Excel reports export with Arabic headings.
Does the platform work on mobile phones?
Yes. Every page adapts to a phone screen, so teachers take attendance, students submit assignments and parents read reports in the browser.
How does early warning work, and who makes the decision?
The system estimates each student's need for support from grades, attendance and engagement with content, and shows the factors behind each alert with the weight of each one. Its role ends at the alert. The educational decision belongs to the teacher.
Do students see grades suggested by AI?
No. A suggested grade for an essay answer stays as a draft with the teacher, and the student does not see it until the teacher approves or changes it.
Can parents see other students' data?
No. Each parent signs in with an account that the administration links to that parent's own children only, and only their data is visible.
How do notifications reach parents?
Always inside the platform, and by email, SMS and WhatsApp once the institution turns them on. The institution connects its own accounts with the service providers, and each user chooses which channels to receive.
Can AI features be turned off?
Yes. AI features stay off until the institution approves them, carry a monthly allowance shown in the settings, and can be switched off from the settings at any time.
Integration and data migration
Is data moved over from the current system?
Yes. Students, teachers, courses, grades and the question bank import in several ways: Excel and CSV files, the previous system's database, or the REST API, and SCORM packages run as they are. The services team handles the migration on request.
Does the platform work with the institution's existing learning management system?
Yes, through LTI 1.3 in both directions: external tools open inside a course, the platform opens from another system, and grades flow back to the gradebook. A REST API is available for connecting other systems.
Do users sign in with institution accounts?
Yes. Single sign-on with Microsoft Entra ID or Google is available to students and teachers, each account is linked to its identifier at the institution, and local sign-in remains available.
Is setup included in the subscription?
Basic setup and templates are included. Large data migrations and on-site training are priced by size.
How long does setup take?
The account is created immediately after registration. Import and training depend on the size of the institution and how ready its data is.
Data and security
Where is institution data hosted?
Inside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in a separate account for each institution, with encrypted backups also kept inside the Kingdom.
How is institution data protected?
Through permissions for each role, two-step verification, an audit log of sensitive actions, isolation of each institution's data in the database, and removal of identifying data before any text is sent to the AI provider. Details are on the security page.
Who owns the data?
The institution. ClassWhy is a processor acting on its behalf and under its instructions, and the institution exports its data when the subscription ends.
Can a student's data be deleted?
Yes. The administration deletes the student's account from the platform. Data subject requests go to the institution as the controller, and ClassWhy supports it in carrying them out.
Is institution data used to train AI models?
No. Only the data a request needs is sent, after anything that identifies the student is removed. It is used for that request alone and is not used to train models.
Subscription and pricing
How are students counted in a plan?
Only active students count. Teacher, administrator and parent accounts are not counted and carry no fees, and moving to a larger tier is possible at any time.
What billing cycles and currencies are available?
Monthly and annual, in Saudi riyals (SAR) or dollars (USD), with 60 days free with annual billing.
What does the free trial include?
14 days on the plan and modules chosen at registration, and the data stays in place on subscribing.
Is a tax invoice issued?
Yes, a tax invoice for every payment. Listed prices exclude 15% VAT.
What payment methods are accepted?
Bank card through the subscription portal, or bank transfer with an uploaded receipt.
How is support provided?
In Arabic and English by email and WhatsApp, according to the subscription agreement.
